Creating your own inspirational space

Hi! I know it’s been a few weeks since I have done a blog post but life has been BUSY. Some of you may know from my Instagram but we are building a house (more on that to come) and we just have been visiting with family and enjoying summer! Scarlett is at such a fun age and she is keeping me busy. Toddler days are full and we are both spent by the end of the day. I know so many of you can relate!

I don't know about y'all, but I LOVE a good happy space that inspires me. A space that's mine where I can sit and be creative or just sit with a cup of coffee and think. I work at home as a stay at home mom and while I love this job and feel like it is every bit of what I am meant to do...it's a job that requires a lot of personal sacrifice. I don't get bathroom breaks or a quiet few minutes to myself...It's non stop from 7am-7pm. Leaving the workforce and becoming a stay at home mom, I gained a lot of other amazing things I couldn't have imagined but somewhere along the way, I lost my sense of self. It happens slowly and all at the same time. Which as I mention in my about blog bio, is a big reason why I started this blog. It has been a passion of mine since before it started and since, has given me a place to pour out my creativity. It has really helped me feel closer to myself and has given me purpose outside of being a mom...and that feels really, really good.

With my blog blossoming, I needed a space of my own to get my work done and honestly just allow myself to sit and write. Which leads me to my new happy inspirational workspace....A DESK. I was finding it really hard to carve out the time in the day to sit and write a blog post. Carrying my laptop all over the house finding 10 minutes here and there to write. I decided for mothers day it would be the perfect gift to ask Braden for a desk of my own. A space that's just mine in our home that I can make pretty and feminine. Braden has a office in our home and I guess I never really realized how much I idolized it. I have never had one of my own. In my previous career I always had shared workspace. Never a spot where I could buy a cute desk plate or pretty candles to display. It might sound weird to someone who has had a lot of desk but for me, it felt really important and special.

I started brainstorming and right away found all the makings for a pretty workspace. I honestly don't think I have ever loved a gift more. It might sound dorky but when it was delivered I couldn't stop sitting at it haha. I love how it makes me feel and how it gives me that sense of self that I had lost. It's crazy how one little space in our home dedicated for just me has made such a big difference for me and how I view my work inside our home, on this blog and in motherhood.

So to all my fellow stay at home parents...or anyone who needs a litter reminder of who you are. If you can find one space or corner of your home that is just for you, do it. Put a few of your favorite things in a spot and create a space that reflects YOU. Give yourself the gift of personal space in a job or lifestyle that really doesn't have the time or space for it.

If you've been following me on insta for awhile you know Kindness is something I talk about and am passionate about. I found this sign at hobby lobby and it instantly resonated with me! I am still playing around with what I want to hang above my desk but I do really love this sign. It's half off this week so it's only $25! Score!

I love this camel velvet color of the chair. It's super neutral! I originally wanted a pink velvet chair but my desk is in our bedroom so I did Braden a favor and stayed away from pink haha! It's an amazon find!
